I joined the fight on thanksgiving day, I got a code by watching Joe Philley G+ page and tried for 4-6 hours to get a code. Finally around 5 o'clock, I was fast enough to get one. I thanked Him for it and I was off.
Now at this time, I had already signed up for a code thought Ingress's Website and had made studding Niantic Project site a daily routine. So not only did I know the story line, I was also up to date on the latest happings. Google+ had Ingress as Trending, so I was able to watch that closely aswell.
So I got My code, kissed my wife goodbye, and headed out the door.
I went downtown to our city counsel building, and started my training there. 20 minutes later when I had completed that, I had to choose a Faction. There where a total of 5 million people in Ingress at the time, and the Resistance outnumbered the Enlightened 3 to 1, and studying about how the Shapers had the ablility to mind hack, and had been for years, I wanted to take hold of that and use the creative flow of them. So, I joined the Enlightened.
Then I found out, that there where no portals in Ridgecrest. I found out I was the First Ingress Player in town. I had also studied how to submit portal places for Google to approve. So I downloaded a 3-party app from the Play store, so I could have a dedicated app for taking Ingress pictures with Geo-tagging. and Spent the next 4 hours driving all over my Town and uploading Pictures to The NIA Super Ops. When I came home, I decided to show my Wife where i had been, and to my Dismay, I found out that the app offset all the pictures, i had taken for the last 4 hours, to the east by 2 + miles! I was very upset, there was no way to take back those pictures uploaded, no way to fix the geo location. All I could do, is write a review of how bad the app was, for the error it had in the gps.
This was all on day one.
